Alles, was man über die U6 wissen muss

Keine andere U-Bahn-, Bus- oder Straßenbahnlinie schafft es, uns so zu unterhalten, uns zum Menschenfeind zu machen und so zu polarisieren, wie die U6. Wir haben uns für euch einen Vormittag lang Zeit genommen und sind die U6-Schickeria von Siebenhirten bis Floridsdorf gefahren, um euch alles, was man darüber wissen muss, zusammenzufassen. Viel Spaß und take care!

Der lieben U6, der definitiv am meist diskutiertesten U-Bahn-Linie im ganzen Land, widmen wir hier einen ganzen Artikel. Unter dem Motto „U6 am Morgen vertreibt Kummer und Sorgen“ haben wir uns eines schönen Sonntagvormittags gedacht, wir gönnen uns mal eine Fahrt von Endstation zu Endstation. Bevor ich nun beginne, euch unsere Eindrücke zu schildern, möchte ich noch diese Hommage an die U6 präsentieren:

Wahre Poesie ist dieses Liebesgedicht an die U6. Nun gut, lasset die U6-Fahrt beginnen. Wir haben beschlossen aus Richtung Siebenhirten zu starten und uns in den Norden zu kämpfen. Am Weg zur U-Bahn ist gleich dieses herrliche Bild entstanden, das mit seiner malerischen Naturidylle regelrecht dazu einlädt, sich in die U6 zu begeben. Was für ein durch Mülltonnen und eine Absperrung gekröntes Panorama an solch einem grauen Tag!

Wir waren äußerst überrascht darüber, wie viele Menschen an einem Sonntagvormittag hier anzutreffen sind. Für eine durch und durch authentische U-Bahn-Fahrt haben wir uns zuvor noch schnell das aktuellste Exemplar der Heute-Zeitung geholt (Bam, Oida!) und uns auf den Weg begeben.

Siebenhirten ist ja ganz in Ordnung. Man kann (noch) gratis parken und ist eigentlich relativ schnell in der Wiener Innenstadt. Wie bei jeder Endstation möchte man hier auch nicht unbedingt abends alleine herumgehen.

In 7hirten ist es, unserer Einschätzung nach ,noch weniger düster als bei Station 2, der Perfektastraße. Ein Weg, um zur Perfektastraße zu gelangen, führt durch den liebevoll als „Verzahrer-Park“ bekannten Kleinpark, der nachts schlecht beleuchtet ist und immer wieder auf’s Neue ein mulmiges Gefühl im Magen bereitet.

Nächster Halt, next stop: Erlaaer Straße. Zusammen mit Alterlaa, Am Schöpfwerk und Tschertegasse ist sie eine der eher nicht so heiß besuchten U-Bahn-Stationen. Von unserem Fensterplatz aus beobachtend (apropos Fenster: Wie passend sind bitte diese ekeligen Flecken an der Scheibe, um die großteils hässlichen Fotos so richtig schiach zu machen? Purster Zufall, ich hätte es nicht schöner planen können!) erkennen wir, dass hier eher wenige Menschen ein- und aussteigen.
Plötzlich kommt jedoch eine Dame, die nur ein paar Minuten später für grandiose Unterhaltung sorgt, da sie einen Viererplatz für sich einnimmt und beginnt, ihre Kleidung auf sämtlichen Sitzgelegenheiten auszubreiten, denn „die muss auslüften“. Keine zwei Minuten hat es gedauert, bis sie mit einem in der Station Tschertegasse zugestiegenen Mann zu streiten beginnt, da dieser keinsterlei Verständnis dafür hatte, dass die Frau in einer knallvollen U-Bahn einen ganzen Vierer mit stinkender Kleidung zum Lüften okkupiert (Wie kann er nur!). Das Outcome war jedoch relativ unspektakulär, nachdem der Herr auf einmal entschied, er habe genug, die Kleidung einfach auf den Boden schmiss und die Frau entzürnt bei der nächsten Station die U-Bahn verließ.

Jetzt kommt mal Bewegung in die U6 mit ihrem kunstvollen gelb-roten Interieur aus Sitzen, auf denen man – vorausgesetzt, man wagt es ernsthaft sich bei hitzigen Temperaturen hinzusetzen – so herrlich schwitzt, dass die nächste Person auch noch etwas davon hat. Viele Menschen verlassen an dieser Stelle die U-Bahn und eilen zu den Zügen, jedoch kommt ein ganzer Schwung neuer Gesichter herein. So zum Beispiel ein Kebap-essender junger Mann. Ist doch schön, in Öffis zu essen. Da macht man sich besonders beliebt bei den anderen Fahrgästen, denn Kebap aus einer der Schnitzelfischdürüm-Buden um zehn am Vormittag ist schon ein angenehmer Geruch, den man keineswegs missen möchte.

Über die Niederhofstraße und Längenfeldgasse geht es auf zu einem weiteren Schmankerl, der Gumpendorfer Straße. Hier sind wir kurz ausgestiegen, weil es in der vorigen U-Bahn so dermaßen nach Kebap gestunken hat, dass es wirklich kaum auszuhalten war. Und glaubt mir, das ist echt keine Untertreibung, denn ich fahre seit vier Jahren fast täglich U6.

Kaum ausgestiegen, werden wir auch schon mit einem fröhlichen „Substi? Substi?“ begrüßt und sind nach einer kurzen Wartezeit, die ja bei der U6 auf der Tagesordnung steht, bald auch schon wieder in der U-Bahn.

Westbahnhof. Nach all dem Trubel der bisherigen Fahrt, beschlossen wir, uns einen kleinen Snack aus dem stets geöffneten U3-Supermarkt zu holen, der zu den am meisten überfallenen Geschäften in ganz Wien zählt und in dem einfach immer, egal zu welcher Tages-, oder Nachtzeit, eine ewig lange Schlange vor der Kasse ist.

Frisch gestärkt geht’s weiter Richtung Floridsdorf. Über die Burggasse, die wie wir finden, eine der charmantesten U6-Stationen ist, weiter zur Thaliastraße, über die man dies definitiv nicht sagen kann. Vielen ist sie vor allem wegen der hier häufig stattfindenden Drogendeals ein Begriff, die mit Gesetzesänderung Anfang des Sommers versteckter stattfanden, nun jedoch wieder in gewohnt offener Marnier zelebriert werden.

Nach einem Stop in Josefstädter und Alser Straße ist der nächste Halt das Allgemeine Krankenhaus, der länger dauert als das normale, kurze Stehenbleiben der U-Bahn. Plötzlich kommt auch schon die üblich Durchsage zur Information: „Auf Grund einer betrieblichen Störung an einem anderen Zug kann die U6 derzeit nur unregelmäßig fahren. Wir bemühen uns um die rasche Wiederhestellung der Intervalle.“ Oder so. Der Blick auf die Gesichter der anderen Fahrgäste zeigte, dass auch sie vom Status quo genervt sind, zumal dies eher die Regel als die Ausnahme ist.

Über die frisch renovierte Währinger Straße geht es weiter zur Nußdorfer Straße, wo ein paar besonders motivierte und vom nächtlichen Feiern gezeichnete junge Menschen mit einer Nudelbox von „Hoppala-Noodles“ (Kein Scherz, die heißen echt so!) auf einmal einsteigen.

Am Weg zur nächsten Station, Spittelau, sticht der traumhaft schöne Fernwärme-Turm dank seiner unübersehbaren Nebelschwaden ins Auge, die diesen grauen Sonntag noch ein bisschen grauer machen. Auch in Spittelau kann man Anzeichen einer langen Nacht vermuten, denn anders kann ich mir nicht erklären, wieso hier jeder Zugestiegene mit einem Käsekrainer-Hotdog die U6 entert.

Ab Spittelau wird es irgendwie wieder vergleichbar mit allem zwischen Siebenhirten und Meidling: wenig los und extra schiache U-Bahn-Stationen. In diese Gegenden verirrt man sich für gewöhnlich nicht, um Wien zu erkunden. Die Station Handelskai wird von den meisten Wienern dennoch zumindest einmal im Jahr im Zuge des Donauinselfests im Sommer besucht und die Gegend um die Haltestelle Neue Donau eignet sich auch ganz gut, um schwimmen zu gehen.

Nur noch eine Station, dann ist es geschafft. Relativ unspektakulär war das Ende unserer Fahrt in Wien Floridsdorf. Weil wir jedoch gar nicht genug kriegen konnten, sind wir direkt in die U6 nach Siebenhirten eingestiegen, um das Spielchen erneut zu starten, diesmal allerdings in die andere Richtung. Nein, Spaß – auf nach Hause!

Wären die Wiener U-Bahnen eine Familie, so würde ich die U6 – vor allem nach diesem netten Sonntagsausflug – zweifelsfrei als schwarzes Schaf bezeichnen. Kebap-Geruch, verrückte Menschen, von der Samstagnacht im Loco Übriggebliebene und eine Vielzahl an herumliegenden Heute-Zeitungen: Langweilig wird eine Fahrt mit der U6 für gewöhnlich nicht. Nichtsdestotrotz gehört sie weiterhin (und jetzt noch viel mehr als zuvor) zu den Dingen, auf die man dankend verzichten kann und die man nach Möglichkeit vermeidet.
